Building a house is always stressful, even during the best of times. Building a house from 450 miles away as we were all coming out of Covid would seem to be a recipe for, if not disaster, certainly a contentious and difficult endeavor. But happily, this was not the case in working with Nick, Chip, Joe, and the ENTIRE crew at Harbor Builders. We enjoyed every aspect of the project due to the absolute professionalism, talent, skills, patience, thoroughness, and overall mindset of the crew that built our house. They are true craftsmen who take pride in their work. Their eagerness to execute our vision was apparent throughout the process. They worked very closely with our architect; asking all of the right questions so as to achieve what we were looking for.

Harbor is small enough so that they are all invested in our project, but large enough to have significant sway with very in-demand subcontractors who then prioritize HBA work. These important relationships led to a timely completion of our house. Communication is obviously crucial, and Nick was extremely diligent in his weekly (or more often) progress reports and pictures that kept us well informed and engaged in the process. It was always fun and educational to travel up to the Midcoast to check in as the crew was always enthusiastic to show us what they had accomplished, ask us for our opinions, and offer very helpful insights and suggestions. They were all a pleasure to work with. Harbor's execution was extraordinary and we could not be happier with the result. We have and will continue to recommend HBA to one and all. If you are looking for a builder, they are simply the best.

As a footnote, our house was struck by lightning not long after we moved in, wreaking havoc with the electrical and other systems. We were planning to head back home, but Nick mobilized his crew and group of electricians, HVAC professionals, etc. to descend on our house the next morning. We were (shockingly) up and running to the extent that we were back in the house that night; truly remarkable and a testament not only to HBA, but their relationships with and quality of their subs.
